Introduction 

Reducing the impact of natural disasters continue to engage the attention of national, regional, and international agencies. Information and Communication Technologies (ITCs) have improved prospects for solving technical problems through the use of Cartographic methodology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for hazard modeling, mapping and analysis to support early warning and crisis management. The rise of cloud computing and cloud data stores have been a precursor and facilitator to the emergence of big data. Cloud computing is the commodification of computing time and data storage by means of standardized technologies. Cloud Computing enables us to easily use software as well as processing platforms and computing infrastructure (that are not equipped on our computers and smartphones) from any location through Internet services. Big Data provides us with new intelligence from massive data sets, which can help in situation/condition/status analysis and decision making. To integrate current big data, cloud computing and cartographic visualization technologies for EW&CM, this conference aims at providing facilitation and communication between experts from multidisciplinary domains so that they are able to discuss several issues about how to explore and promote research in this field.
