On behalf of Prof. Shunping He and Prof. Huanming Yang, it is really our great pleasure to write this letter to invite you to attend the “2010 International Fish Genomic Research Conference” organized by Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and BGI ( www.genomics.cn), which will be held in the end of September, 2010, Shenzhen, China.
The specific goal for this conference is not only to develop strategies of the fish genomic research but also to discuss its important role in promoting breed cultivation, disease control, feed nutrition, food safety and so on. Fish genomic research will provide an important basis for further exploration and analysis of fish genome evolution and provide a large number of information and resources on genetic level for basic biology of aquatic animals and breeding. Besides it is of great scientific value and has an important role in promoting fisheries technology development, which will have a major impact on the development of aquaculture in China even in the whole world.
The Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences is an integrated academic research institution which devotes to the studies of life process of inland aquatic organism, ecological environment protection and researches on the utilization of biological resources. As a world-class research institution, BGI has established its own technical platforms based on large-scale genome sequencing and efficient bioinformatics analyses. It has more ample experience for the different aspects of the genetics, genomics and biotechnology in fish and aquaculture.
We are confident that, with your active participation, the meeting will be a scientifically sound and pleasant occasion, contributing to fish genomes research in China as well as in the whole world.

Abstract submission
The deadline for abstract submission is September 15st. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Academic Committee, and authors will be notified if they are to give an oral presentation. All accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
Abstract Format:
Title The abstract title should be short, informative and contain the major key words.
Authors Abstract titles should be followed by authors’ first initial and last name. Numbers must be used to indicate the author’s institution- placed in brackets, followed by city and country (in this order). Do not include degrees or professional titles (e.g. Dr, Prof., etc).
